About
Our Mission: To create a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization in the tradition of our founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul, aspires to unite people to grow spiritually by offering services to those suffering. As a reflection of God, members known as Vincentians achieve holiness through service and fellowship. Serving those less fortunate increases minister to Jesus Christ himself. Vincentians are united and committed to service and nourished by prayer and reflection.
Holy Family Vincentians see the face of Christ in all guests and are a witness to God’s love by embracing various works of charity. In addition to the food pantry that is available year-round, the ministry has a variety of special initiatives:
- Thanksgiving food baskets
- “Jesse Tree” program to provide Christmas gifts to children.
- Easter baskets for the children.
- “Soles4Kids” program to provide new school shoes to over 900 preschool
children in the Head Start program in Orange County. - “Souper Bowl of Caring” – special community food collection in accordance with
the national ”Tackle Hunger project. - “Friends of the Poor 5k Walk/Run” to support ongoing pantry efforts.
- Lend a Hand – Win a Grand” – raffle during Lent in partnership with Men of Holy
Lenten Fish Fry.
The ministry is open to adult parishioners at Holy Family Diocesan training and background checks are a requirement to volunteer and Ozanam Orientation provides insights to working with the poor. If you are feeling the call to serve, please get in touch to see how you can get involved!
