About

Courageous Families Anchored in Hope is a faith-based and facilitator-led support group for members of Holy Family and the surrounding community. The ministry’s mission is to provide comfort, encouragement, and hope for hurting parents in a safe, confidential setting. The group is for parents (and/or grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) who have children of any age who struggle with mental health issues, self- harm, eating disorders, substance use, gender confusion, suicidal thoughts, and more. This group supports the family members struggling with fear, worry, isolation, and shame, which, unfortunately, may accompany this journey.

Topics include (but are not limited to) grief and loss, enabling, coping with fear and anger, positive communication, self-care, and more. Other parents who have traveled this road before will share their experiences. The group empowers them to set healthy boundaries for themselves, their families, and their children. Healthcare professionals and individuals in recovery occasionally speak at some of the gatherings. The goal is to show parents that they can walk alongside their children, love them well and move from a place of barely surviving to thriving. Courageous Families meets on the first and third Mondays of most months from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
