Barbara McGee’s career took a few unexpected turns before leading her to where she is today. Originally planning to become a math teacher, Barbara discovered a love for accounting after taking a bookkeeping position. After earning her degree in business, she began her professional career as an auditor with Peat Marwick, Mitchell and Co. (now KPMG), and later served as the CFO of a law firm for 25 years. She then spent 10 years as a parish Business Manager before officially “retiring” in 2015 and moving to Florida with her husband.

Retirement, however, didn’t last very long! Barbara began volunteering in the PREP office and was soon invited to join the staff. In 2022, she became the school’s accountant, and she now serves as the parish accountant. Barbara feels blessed to continue using her experience and skills in service to the Church and is grateful to be part of the wonderful Holy Family family. She and her husband agree that as long as they continue to enjoy what they do, they’ll keep doing it!
